Monument Inscription

ERECTED

BY

JAMES PATERSON

IN MEMORY

Family History

This monument has suffered the ravages of weather and time to the extent that virtually all the inscription has been removed from the face of the stone.

The stone itself appears to be friable sandstone and would have required a lot of skilled work on the part of the mason carving. Little attention was paid to the wearability of such material on the site it occupied. As a result no input can be given as to the originator of the monument James Paterson, or the persons it was designed to commemorate.
