J. F. and S. Mitchell recorded pre 1855 gravestone inscriptions. Their record was published in 1969 and amended by Alison Mitchell in 1992. This valuable resource has enabled us to add names and dates, now eroded, to ten of our inscription recordings.The table, below, relates the grave numbers allocated in the two surveys and indicates (*) where we have included data from the earlier study.
