Family History

Made from local whinstone and giving the appearance of a simple tablet intended for no other purpose other than a simple grave marker, this stone may not be as bland as it first appears.

Situated, as it is, immediately abutting another stone of similar design, certain indicators become apparent. Made in 1775 the stone is quite within the pattern range of other stones of the same period. The inscription on the stone gives only the initials W.G and A.A and the aforesaid date. The adjoining stone, which omits to display a date, does however show the initials T.G and I.P.

No further positive information is possible.
