Family History

This plain workmanlike memorial stone gives the impression that it was created by a practical individual who had little time for sentimental inscriptions. Perhaps the indication that such a person was a stone mason to trade would explain the presentation.

Interestingly the lack of sentiment and personal details of the individuals mentioned on this stone may also indicate that these persons valued their privacy.

The inscription on the stone indicates very firmly to whom this grave plot belongs, and was entirely within the practices of the times when persons were able to select and pay for their grave site well before their demise.
